TODD’S TAKE
Good morning and welcome to our worship service. If you are a guest with us this morning we welcome you and invite you to join in with us as we honor our Creator and Savior.

You’re probably heard the saying, “You can please some of the people all of the time, you can please all of the people some of the time, but you can’t please all of the people all of the time.” That seems  to be true in my experience and I don’t recall having met anyone who was able to please all of the people all of the time.  Not even Jesus. Although he was the sinless Son of God there were some people who nevertheless were displeased with him. Today we will look at a story in Mark 2 that gets to the root of why some people didn’t like Jesus.

Today is our Neighbor Fun Day! If you are a guest with us this morning we invite you to stay around after church and join us for lunch, games, and fellowship.

Focus Groups
As has been announced, we have partnered with the Siburt Institute for Church Ministry (a ministry associated with ACU) to help us prepare for the next decade as we expect population growth in Texoma and ministry staff retirements/transitions. One aspect of this initiative is to get feedback from the congregation. The first way you can help is to sign up for Focus Groups led by the elders that will solicit your thoughts, ideas, and vision for the Park Avenue Church as we Press On into the future. These informal, conversational groups will be 45 – 60 minutes and offered on Sunday afternoons and Wednesday nights beginning April 24 through May 8. The goal is to limit each of these groups to 12 people, so we need you to sign up. Go to pacoc.net/PressOn to sign up or follow the link in the church app or website. You can also call the church office at 903-465-1288 to sign up for a slot.

Philippians 3:13–14 (ESV)
But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
