Good morning and welcome to our worship service. If you are a guest with us this morning we welcome you and invite you to join in with us as we honor our Creator and Savior.
This morning I’ll follow up with last week’s sermon and remind us of our calling to be witnesses of the gospel. We will look at one particular story in Mark 2 of some men who were passionate about introducing their friend to Jesus. May we individually and collectively be a witnessing church! One way we can bring people closer to Jesus is inviting them to next Sunday’s Neighbor Fun Day. See more details on the back page.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity we have reached and surpassed our goal for Grace Offering! Our current total stands at $170,821. All of that contribution will go to fund many of our outreach efforts here in Texoma and around the world. Who knows how many lives will be changed by your gracious giving!
Focus Groups
As George announced last Sunday, we have partnered with the Siburt Institute for Church Ministry (a ministry associated with ACU) to help us prepare for the next decade as we expect population growth in Texoma and ministry staff retirements/transitions. One aspect of this initiative is to get feedback from the congregation. The first way you can help is to sign up for Focus Groups led by the elders that will solicit your thoughts, ideas, and vision for the Park Avenue Church as we Press On into the future. The groups will be 45 – 60 minutes and offered on Sunday afternoons and Wednesday nights beginning April 24 through May 8. The goal is to limit each of these groups to 12 people, so we need you to sign up. Go to pacoc.net/PressOn to sign up or follow the link in the church app or website. You can also call the church office at 903-465-1288 to sign up for a slot.
Philippians 3:13–14 (ESV)
But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
