Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.
On Sunday, October 25, our church family will take the next step of faith in our Pressing On campaign. Pledge Sunday includes two parts. First, each family is invited to bring a First Fruits Offering, an initial gift that gives us the resources to begin the planned improvements as soon as possible. Second, each family is asked to prayerfully consider a three-year commitment above and beyond regular giving, which can be given on whatever schedule works best: weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annually. Pledge cards will be provided during worship, and pledges may also be made online at pacoc.net/pledge. If you pledge online, please also complete a card that morning so every commitment can be gathered and prayed over together.
Every gift matters, because we are not asking for equal gifts, but equal sacrifice. Our elders, deacons, and ministry leaders have already stepped forward first, and now we invite the whole congregation to follow in faith, trusting God to provide everything we need without taking on debt. The following Sunday, November 1, we will gather for a congregational celebration to give thanks for His provision. Until then, please continue to pray about the gift God is leading you to give as we press on together.
On Sunday, November 1, we will gather as a congregation to celebrate God's faithfulness and provision through our Pressing On campaign. Just as this church has done at other important moments in its history, we will pause to give thanks for all He has done, from the weeks of prayer and preparation that led us here to the generous commitments made on Pledge Sunday. This will be a day of worship, gratitude, and joy as we recognize that every gift, large or small, is an act of faith and a testimony to God's goodness among us. Details are still coming together, and we will share more in the weeks ahead.
Celebration Sunday also marks a turning point. Once we have given thanks, we will begin the work God has placed before us. We will keep you updated on the schedule!
