TODD’S TAKE
Good morning and welcome to our worship service. What a blessing to gather together to worship and fellowship. If you are a guest with us this morning we welcome you and invite you to join in with us as we honor our creator and savior. If you are looking for a church home, please feel free to let us know if you have any questions about Park Avenue.

It’s so good for Henriann and me to be back home after our trip to Thailand to get our son Purich. It was a wonderful and exhausting trip and we felt all of your love, support, and encouragement. Thank you so much for all your emails, texts, posts and other expressions of love. And what a blessing to come home to the gift tree! Your concern, prayers, and generosity are overwhelming to us. We are settling in slowly but surely.

Thanks also to Basil and Tyler for filling in for me while I was gone. Thanks also to many others that covered my responsibilities while I was away. We are blessed with a dedicated and qualified church staff.

Also thanks to everyone who participated in our Fall Festival. How fun to see so many of you volunteer your “trunks” and help out in other ways to provide this event for our community. The Ark was absolutely packed! Your servant hearts are making a difference.

We continue to answer God’s call to serve and bless our world through Operation Christmas Child. If you haven't already, pick up a box and provide a child with Christmas love and an opportunity to hear the good news of God’s love. If you’re not able to fill a box may you send some special prayers to God to bless children around the world who don’t have what so many of us have and especially pray that they can know the peace and hope that comes from knowing God.

This morning we have about 50 of our church family at our annual Fortify Family Retreat at Lake Texoma. This morning they are worshipping together and enjoying the blessing of church family.

I’m excited to bring you the message from God’s word this morning. I’ll be starting a series of sermons on the letters of the apostle Paul. Outside of Jesus, Paul is the most influential figure in what we believe as Christians and how we practice our faith both personally and corporately. One thing that rings true in Paul’s letters is his concern for the health of the local church. These letters offer encouragement, correction and instruction to these young churches as they seek to carry on the work of Jesus in their local communities. Today I will spend time introducing Pauls’ letters. As we survey these letters it is my hope that we may grow individually and as a church.

So glad you are here!
