Communion
Pick up a communion packet & ziplock bag from the tall tables in the auditorium or from the information centers in the main hallways before worship service begins.
 
Sympathy
Our sympathy is with Kay Skelton after the passing of her sister, Nancy, on May 6.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Mobile Food Pantry
The mobile food pantry will be in the church parking lot tomorrow, Monday, May 10 at 10 AM.

Barnabas Center Meeting
A meeting for current Barnabas volunteers and for anyone who would like to join the team, will be held this Tuesday, May 11 at 6PM at the Barnabas Center, 2800 S. Mirick Ave. 

Christian Theater Workshop - July 19-25

Ladies Supper
Ladies, join us in the atrium on Wednesday, May 19 at 6 PM for fellowship, information on upcoming events, and opportunities to serve.  Bring a finger food to share.
 
Fifth Sunday
May 30 is a fifth Sunday. All contributions that day will go toward the debt reduction on the Family Life Center.
 
Bridal Shower
Join us for a Bridal Shower to honor Shiloh Cooksey & Will Davis today, Sunday, May 9 from 1:30-3:00 PM in the atrium. They are registered at Target and Anthropologie. Shiloh is the granddaughter of Jerry & Jeanie Gregory.
 
Needs of Children’s Homes
We are collecting items for the following children’s homes. Please place your items on the cart in the atrium for both needs.

 
Youth Ministry

• Sunday, May 9: No youth group activities tonight. Enjoy time with your family.
• CTW Tryouts for MS & HS are Wed. May 12 from 5-6:30 PM in the Ark.  If you would like a speaking part, solo, or sing in a small group please be at the tryouts. Speaking parts will be assigned after May 12! You must also be registered by May 12 for a speaking part. For questions contact  Janaga Trotter, 903-624-4466 or Kathy Pryor, 903-821-4606
• Senior Banquet Set Up:  Also May 12 we will be setting up for Senior Banquet around 7:15 ish. Parents, if you are able to help we would appreciate it!
• Senior Sunday: We will have a church wide banquet next Sunday, May 16 in the Ark after worship to honor our graduates. Please register online to let us know how  many people in your family will be attending. 
• Updated Senior List:  Please note  that we have one addition to our graduate list—Timothy Cobble, Avery Encalade, Skyler Levacy, Josh Hysmith, Ashlyn Karguth, and Hailey Geist.
• May 19: Parent’s Meeting from 6-6:30 PM in the Youth Suite. This will be followed by our welcome party for our two summer interns, Lauran Brady and Sophie Balentine, from 6:30-8PM.
• Welcome Party: for incoming 7th graders and current 7th graders will be May 30 (since we missed welcoming them last year.)
• Camp OC Registrations: Register online under youth ministry: Zenith (High School) June 20-25, Cornerstone (Middle School) June 27-July 1.
• Youth Mission Trip to Boles Children’s Home, June 6-12: Register online under youth ministry.

TODD'S TAKE
Good morning and welcome to our worship. A special welcome to  all our Mothers. Today we honor you for all that you are and all that you do. To all our children of all ages here today with their moms, stop by our photo booth in the Atrium before or after worship to get a picture with your mom.

This morning we will continue through the apostle John’s letter as we look at 1 John 2:12-17. John continues to encourage believers. In this section he addresses the wide demographic that makes up the church—from new believers to seasoned veterans—and reminds them that they have what it takes to resist temptation and continue their walk with God.

There are lots of ways to serve here at PA, from CTW to Mobile Pantry to Barnabas Center to Ladies ministry. Look through the Messenger and find out where God is calling you to serve.
