NEWS & NOTES
Thank You
We cannot find adequate words to express the depth of appreciation that we have for all that you have done for our family—especially through the last few weeks. Your visits, cards, meals, phone calls, and words of encouragement supported us so well through the difficult loss of Linda. Thank you to those who provided a wonderful meal before Linda’s funeral. Thank you to all who helped with her service in some way. Special thanks to Todd for coordinating so many details and for his words of comfort at the graveside. The Park Avenue Church is a special church. We are so thankful for the many blessings we have received through all of you. With much love and many thanks, The Henry Family

TODD’S TAKE
Good morning and welcome! We're so glad to be together as a church family today. If you're our guest this morning, thank you for being here—we'd love to get to know you.
We spend a lot of time trying not to become our parents.
There's even a name for it now — "Parentamorphosis" — coined by an insurance ad campaign featuring a life coach who helps young homeowners avoid inheriting their parents' most embarrassing habits. It's funny because it's painfully true. We absorb more than we choose. We inherit more than we realize. For better and worse, we become like the people we come from.
But what if the most important thing about you isn't which parent you resemble — it's that you were made in the image of God?
That's the claim Genesis makes in its very first chapter. Out of everything God created — stars and oceans and creatures of every kind — human beings alone were made to carry His image. To reflect who He is. To look, in some meaningful way, like the God who made them.
Today we close out The Greatness of God series with a question that has been building beneath the surface all along: if we were made to reflect God, what does that actually look like? We've spent four weeks looking at His greatness, His goodness, His communication, and His sacrificial love. Now the challenge is personal. Those aren't just qualities to admire — they are qualities we were made to carry.
Today we will also recognize our five elders who are continuing to serve and our two new elders who will join them in shepherding PACOC. This morning we welcome Todd Detro & Shane Haddock to our elder team joining Gary Calvert, Greg Clay, George Hatfield, David Kirkbride, and Blake Smith. We are blessed to have these men leading and watching over us as we strive to be the church God has called us to be. Please continue to be in prayer for them and PACOC.
