Sympathy
Our sympathy is with Kathy Hitchcock after the passing of her father, Gary Harbison, on Monday, August 4th. 
 
Pot Luck Luncheon
Today we will honor our new Youth Minister & his wife, Sam & Maddie (Madelyn) Cannon with a potluck luncheon in the Ark immediately after worship this morning.
 
Back to School Prayer Activities
 
“Pray in the Spirit at all times. Pray with all kinds of prayers, and ask for everything you need”.
Ephesians 6:18
 
We invite everyone, adults & children, to participate in our Back to School Prayer Activity. We have tables  covered in butcher paper placed in various locations inside the building. Educators & children will trace their handprint on the butcher paper, and the rest of us will trace our handprint over theirs—symbolizing our promise to cover them in prayer this school year. 
 
Community Back to School Prayer
We will also have a community back to school prayer today, August 10th. We will meet at Parkside Baptist Lawn (please note the change of location) at 7:00 PM and disperse to different campuses. Join us for this special time of community prayer.
 
PACOC Back to School Prayer
Today we will have a congregational prayer for all our teachers, administrators and staff in our morning worship as we embark on another school year.
 
SAMPACC
The Senior Adult Ministry will meet tomorrow night, August 11th at 5:30 PM in the Atrium for a game night. Bring a finger food to share!
  
Mary Martha Class
The Mary Martha Class, a woman’s Bible study that meets on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 AM in the Atrium, will resume on September 10th.  The theme this year is Cultivating Inward Beauty Through the Word. The class will be led by Judith Nevil. 
 
Park Avenue Family Ministry
Thank you to those who filled out the Family Ministry Survey. If you have not yet done so, please take the time to do that today. We value your input as we begin to develop a plan for Park Avenue Family Ministry! Please continue to lift up this ministry in prayer.

Join us this Wednesday at 5:15 PM for our PAWS Lite. We are having Pizza, Salad Bar & Dessert. The meal will be prepared by Shelly Calvert & Susie Hilton and their team. Serving starts at 5:15 PM and stops promptly at 6:15 PM.

TODD’S TAKE
Welcome to worship! What a joy it is to gather together as a church family. To our guests joining us today, we'd love the opportunity to connect with you and share more about Park Avenue!
 
Today is a big day at PACOC. Right after services we will officially welcome Sam and Maddie Cannon (and their future Cannon) to the Park Avenue family with a congregational potluck in the Ark. For months we have prayed for God to send us the right man to lead our Youth Ministry and today we celebrate answered prayers. I hope all of you can stay and join in on the festivities.
 
Later today we have our Community Back to School Prayer as believers from all over Denison will join their hearts.  We lift up our dedicated school staff members who serve such vital roles in shaping our children's lives. We ask for God's wisdom and guidance for all educational leaders as they make decisions that impact our community's future. We also seek God's blessing of peace and success for every student during these formative years. May our children experience growth and flourishing in all areas - physically, academically, emotionally, and spiritually - as they navigate this important season of development.
 
Come join us as tonight at 7 pm at Parkside Baptist Lawn as we commit our schools, educators, and students to God's care and protection for the year ahead.
 
In addition to our community prayer we will offer a special prayer for our PACOC educators during our worship this morning. Also, please stop by one of the tables spread around the building and pray over one of our own PACOC children as they begin their new school year.
