Thank You’s
I want to thank everyone for their kindness during this difficult time. Thank you also for the special plant reminding us of our loved one, Vicki Oliver
Our entire family would like to thank our wonderful church family for the outpouring of love shown to us during mom’s passing. The plant, cards, flowers, and delicious meal served to us will always remind us of the incredible love between momma and her Armstrong/Park Avenue church home, where she was a member for her entire life. She adored the members and ministers that faithfully serve here. Momma’s legacy would be one of encouragement, love, and joy! We pray we can somehow carry on her legacy as we continue to love and serve with our amazing church family. Love, The Parkey Family.

TODD’S TAKE
Good morning and welcome to our worship services. If you are a guest with us today, our prayer is that you are blessed by our time of worship. We invite you to talk with any of us about how God is working in the Park Avenue Church.
In our sermon time this morning, I will continue our journey through 1 Thessalonians, focusing on 2:13-3:13. Paul continues his words of praise for this church, especially commending their endurance and perseverance through sufferings. Paul reminds them that believers are destined for trials. This isn't something we often discuss, but it is clear from the words of Jesus and the experience of the early believers that life in this world will not always be easy for people of faith. Faith requires perseverance, and this is another mark of a model church—endurance in the face of trials.
Even today, we must expect some degree of resistance to the message of the gospel and be willing to face that with grace and truth.
