Sympathy
Our sympathy is with Jimmy & Karen Elmore in the passing of Karen’s son, Corey Lynch, on Monday, January 27th.  Services were held last Friday at PACOC. 
 
Baptism
Congratulations to Macy Nelson who was baptized into Christ last Sunday by her grandfather, Paul Waggoner.
 
Thank You
Thank you all for the prayers and love that have been shown to Josh and I as I recover from my recent illness. I also want to thank all the wonderful ladies that took time out of their day to provide us a meal for the meal train. It was such a blessing to Josh and I both. We are so incredibly blessed to have such a wonderful Church family. I also want to thank Dee Stone and the Ladies sewing ministry for the beautiful pillow. Marriage Celebration
On Sunday, February 16th we will honor those members celebrating a special wedding anniversary this year.  If your wedding anniversary ends in a “0” or “5” you can submit one wedding picture and one more recent picture to the church office by no later than February 7th. 
 
Ladies Retreat, April 25-27
In December you got a sneak peek of the 2025 Ladies Retreat!  Next Sunday, February 9th will be the official “kick off” and we are not talking about the Super Bowl! It is time to get serious about signing up for the Ladies Retreat! Save the date and secure your spot!  It will be a sweet time of Renewal! 

Sweetheart Banquet
Anyone over 60 is invited to stay after church on Sunday, February 9th for a meal served by our youth group.  Sign up on the church app so we know how many to prepare for.
 
CAM Volunteers
Our College Age Ministry is in need of volunteers this semester. Please scan the QR code to volunteer. 
 
Collide Retreat
Please be in prayer for our 5th and 6th grade students and sponsors who are on the Collide Retreat this weekend.
 
Wedding Shower
Join us on Sunday, March 2nd from 1:30-3:00 PM in the Atrium for a wedding shower honoring Bao Catteau and Lauren Robinson. They are registered at Amazon, Target, and Pottery Barn.
 
Youth Ministry

  • Sun. Feb. 9th: Super Bowl Party in the youth suite. From 5-9pm. 
  • Feb. 28th-March 2nd: Soul Link in Houston. More details to come.

TODD’S TAKE
 
Good morning and welcome to our worship services this morning. If you are  guest with us this morning our prayer is that you are blessed by our time of worship and we invite you to talk to one of us about how God is working in the Park Avenue Church.
 
As we can see on the reverse side of the Messenger, there’s lots going on and many ways to serve and connect. If you have any questions about any activity or ministry feel free to contact a minister and we will be glad to point you in the right direction.

In our sermon time this morning I will continue developing our Covenant Sunday Theme, Your Word is Truth. Today we will go to Scripture to discover the truth about ourselves.
 
It’s a “good news / bad news” situation as we see that we are fearfully and wonderfully made in God’s image yet we have all marred that image with our sin. The truth is that we are deeply loved and valued by God but we all need his deliverance. Thanks be to God he has provided that in Jesus Christ!
 
Attention New Members and Guests
