NEWS & NOTES
Trunk ‘n Treat
Our Trunk ‘n Treat is next Sunday, October 27th at 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the church parking lot. Thank you to everyone who has volunteered their trunks. Our greatest need right now is candy. You can place your candy donations in the receptacles at each side of the hallways.
Picture Day
Today and next Sunday, October, 27th we will be taking pictures, to update our online church directory, in the atrium before and after worship. If you are a new member or if you have any family updates, stop by the atrium and get your picture taken! No sign up is required.
Operation Christmas Child
Each year, people prayerfully fill shoeboxes with toys, school supplies, and personal care items for children in need around the world. These special boxes are joyfully received by boys and girls from 2-14 years old, often as their first gift ever! Pick up a shoebox from the worship center and let’s see what God will do this year as we seek to bring Him glory through this project. Please return your filled boxes by no later than November 10th.
Fall Gospel Meeting
Bells Church of Christ will have a gospel meeting with Weldon Stoker as guest speaker, October 27-30th.

TODD’S TAKE
Good morning and welcome to our worship services this morning.
Today in our sermon time we will resume our journey through the letter of James. Today’s text is James 3:1-4:12. Let me encourage you to read through the letter as James has so much practical advice for us to ensure that our faith is genuine and producing the good works that should naturally flow out of a life of faith.
If you missed last week’s sermon from Barry Stephens you can catch the audio on the website or app. Barry, our consultant with the Siburt Institute, updated us on the findings from the Church Health Assessment and Focus Groups that we have conducted over the last few months as the leadership seeks God’s vision for the future of PACOC. The data that he references is available to everyone. If you’d like a copy of that, contact the church office.
You will notice that Tyler Cope and his family are away from us for the next few weeks as Tyler is enjoying his sabbatical. Several years ago the elders began providing this time away for all the ministers. After every five year interval we are blessed to take some time off to recharge and refresh. These times of rest have proven to help extend our time in ministry as well as enhance our effectiveness in our service to the church. On behalf of all the ministry staff, let me thank the leadership and the congregation for your deep concern and ongoing support of us and our families. We are truly blessed to work together with you in this little outpost of the kingdom.
Your generosity was on full display once again this past week as we raised nearly $5,000 through donations and last Wednesday’s Paws for a Cause. All proceeds will go to relief efforts for victims of the recent storms. If you want to contribute, contact an elder or the church office.
Glad you are here with us today to worship our Creator!
