TODD’S TAKE
Good morning and welcome to our worship service. If you are a guest with us this morning we welcome you and invite you to join in with us as we honor our Creator and Savior.

This morning in the sermon time I will continue a series of lessons on King David. In a short time David has accomplished quite a bit—he captures Jerusalem, he drives off the Philistines, and successfully brings the Ark of the Covenant to his new capital. He is off to a great start and he wants to keep the momentum going by building a temple for the Lord. But God says, “No”!

Sometimes we get so busy doing things for God we lose focus on who God really is, and that may be one reason for God’s rejection of David’s plan. God slows David down to give him even a bigger vision and a bold reminder of the real plan—to bring Jesus to the world who will do for us what no other king can do; save us from our sins!

Thank You Park Avenue Church Family
Wow!  What a special celebration you gave for my 20th Anniversary at Park Avenue. I was in awe at the beautiful, colorful decorations, the center pieces on each table, the delicious brisket prepared by Jim and Maida Rangel, the marvelous sides and desserts, the touching video of family and friends and photos through the years, all of the touching remarks and spoken words, and the trekking adventure gift. I was overwhelmed, humbled, and richly blessed by the outpouring of cards, gifts, and kind words of encouragement. I am so    thankful for this church family and know without a doubt that God brought us together for such a time as this.  Blessings, Basil
