Baby Bottle Campaign
True Options Pregnancy Center in Sherman annually conducts a “baby bottle campaign” where members of churches fill baby bottles with loose change, dollars, or checks to help them provide free services to young women facing unplanned pregnancies so they can choose life for their unborn babies. Park Avenue Wednesday Supper
Join us this Wednesday for our PAWS meal at 5:15PM. We will be having Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Veggie Burgers, Salad, Chips, & Dessert. The meal will be prepared by Amyee McAlister and her team. Note that this will be the last PAWS meal until Fall. The PAWS volunteers will take a break over the summer months.
Good morning. What a blessing it is to worship together as the body of Christ! Welcome to all our church family and to our guests.
We seem to have a fascination for royalty. Just recently millions tuned in to see Charles crowned as the new king of England. Even more tuned in to watch the funeral of Queen Elizabeth. And if you’re old enough, how many of you watched the wedding of Charles and Diana? There’s something about royalty that fascinates us.
Well, today I am starting a new sermon series on royalty. Not British royalty but Biblical royalty. A significant portion of the Old Testament takes place during the period of the Jewish Kings, first as the kingdom is united and then continuing as it divides into a northern and southern kingdom. Today we will explore the origins of the Jewish monarchy which will lead to the coronation of Israel's first king, Saul. There is so much to learn about ourselves and God in these stories. Our primary text this morning will be 1 Samuel 8.
Wasn't it a great Sunday last week as we recognized our 17 high school graduates? What an honor to be part of a church that values and speaks truth into the lives of our children. To all the Bible class volunteers from cradle roll to youth group, to all the retreat and camp sponsors, to all the CTW volunteers, and to everyone who generously gives to the church to make a vibrant youth ministry possible, thank you. Our kids are blessed by your servant hearts.
This Wednesday is our last Park Avenue Wednesday Supper until fall. We are so appreciative of all our PAWS volunteers and the hours of work they put in preparing these great meals for us. Not only are the meals wonderful but so is the fellowship experienced around the tables. This year we have had great numbers at our PAWS meals and great numbers for our Wednesday classes.
As we break for the summer, just a reminder that the first Wednesday in June is our Church at the Park and the following Wednesdays throughout the summer we have planned more opportunities for Bible study, fellowship, praise, and service. Make Wednesday evenings a part of your spiritual growth plan.
