NEWS & NOTES

Thank You
I just want to say thank you for all the prayers for me and my family after the death of my sister, who is celebrating in heaven, my mother breaking her arm, and being in a wreck with my brother. I have had so many cards, texts, and calls, all sent with love, and I felt them all! God is good all the time. In Christian love, Cathy Scott

Sympathy
Our sympathy is with Pam Long and her family after the passing of Larry Long on Saturday, March 18.  Services were held last Wednesday.

Thanks
A very sincere thanks to all who contributed to the ceremony Sunday morning for we three couples. We all agreed that everything about Sunday went very well, starting with honoring our three families, to the installation of Justin and Leslie, plus the reaffirmation of the current Shepherds. Park Avenue has always been a special and unique congregation...primarily because of the Lord's obvious leading and bestowing of peace, but also in very large part because of the people and the unity we all pursue and enjoy. It was those same folks who so dearly honored us for our service...and for whom we have always been honored to serve, including those who have moved away or have already received their reward. The blessings we three have all received from God and the congregation are innumerable.

Again, we say thanks for the idea and planning for this past Sunday morning, especially to Sue Lain and Joan.
May God continue to abundantly bless us all.

Summer Missions
This summer we have two opportunities for you to participate in mission trips—one to Casa de la Esperanza in Mexico and another to Togo, West Africa. Spaces are limited, so contact the church office soon for information. Some of the expense for these trips is offset by our Grace Offering. Additional financial assistance is available. These trips are great ways to spread the good news, serve others, and connect with PACOC members.

TODD'S TAKE

Good morning and welcome to our worship service. A special welcome to our guests. Let us know if you have any questions about what we are all about.

This morning as we approach Easter and the celebration of the resurrection I will continue a sermon series called “Raised” based on 1 Corinthians 15. This is one of the greatest chapters in the New Testament as Paul lays out the evidence and the necessity of the resurrection of Jesus. We will explore how the resurrection is an undeniable historic fact. That the resurrection is indispensable to our faith. That it promises us an imperishable body. And that our faith in the resurrection makes us unshakable in our Christian walk!

With Easter coming that means Daisy’s Little Red Wagon will be here NEXT WEEK! Remember to bring all your coins and let’s fill up the wagon as we begin our Grace Offering contribution that supports many of the outreach ministries of the Park Avenue church.

Our Grace Offering is Easter Sunday, April 9. Our financial goal is $156,100, almost 8 times our weekly budget. Please be prayerful about how you can support the outreach ministries of PACOC.  For more details about the Grace Offering and information on our outreach ministries go to pacoc.net/go.
