TODD'S TAKE
Good morning and  welcome to our worship service. A special welcome to our guests. If you have any questions about Park Avenue or Christianity in general, feel free to track down one of our ministers or elders or contact us any time.

This morning we will be in Luke 10 as we take a look at the mission Jesus sent the 72 disciples on. Although the instructions he gives them are unique for their particular circumstances, the implication seems to be that all of us are called to be on mission. Every disciple (student) becomes an apostle (one sent on a mission). Last week we noted that the first and most important aspect of mission is to be people of prayer. I encourage you to pray for your individual response to Jesus’ charge in your life to be on mission. What gifts, opportunities, and circumstances has he entrusted to you that you can use to participate in spreading the news of the Kingdom of God?

Thanks to everyone who participated in this year’s Trunk ‘N Treat. We estimate that we had over 1000 people roaming our parking lot collecting candy, bouncing in houses, eating hotdogs, and enjoying a beautiful fall evening. PACOC provided at least 107 volunteers to staff the event not counting the dozens of you who provided candy. Another example of all of us working together to serve our community letting them know we care.

A special word of thanks to all our volunteers that worked with our Lady Jacket Breakfasts throughout the fall. They get here early morning to provide breakfast for all the Lady Jacket athletes (about 120 in all). This is cooperative effort with the DISD athletic department that provides mentoring opportunities for the girls along with an encouraging and inspirational word from a guest speaker. Just another way PACOC is making a positive impact in our community. We will continue these in the spring. Contact us if you want to help.

Community Thanksgiving Service, November 20
Plan to join in our Community Thanksgiving Service two weeks from tonight. Basil and our worship team will be leading a portion of the worship as churches across Denison gather to give thanks.
