Congratulations

Ken & Kelly Hurley are pleased to announce the birth of their grandson, Theodore Hamilton Coperhaver on September 8. Proud parents are Lauren & Joseph Copenhaver. He was born in Dallas and is a big beautiful healthy baby. The family is thrilled.  

Disciple Making Communities

Some DMCs have already begun and some begin today. We believe that being in spiritual community is vital to our growth in Christ and encourage everyone to be part of one of these communities. All the groups are listed at pacoc.net/groups, or you can sign up on the app. If you are part of an existing group, consider who you can invite to join you and share the blessing of community.  

New Adult Sunday Morning Class

The 9 am Sunday morning class has moved to  Room D.  Lantz Howard will be leading a 6-week class on Winning the War in Your Heart. The class is open to all adults.  

Youth Ministry

  • Sunday September 11: Connect in the Gym from 5:30-7:30pm! Dinner is Sloppy Joes, chips, and dessert!
  • Sunday September 18: Front Porch Parenting! Register online.
  • October 8-9: Fall Retreat! Sign-ups are online! We are in need of Adult volunteers as well! Please let Tyler know if you can help!

Coffee & Donut Fellowship

Come early on Sunday mornings to enjoy coffee, donuts, and fellowship, starting at 9:15 AM in the Atrium.  

Golf Tournament

Western Heights is hosting a golf tournament to benefit their preschool! The tournament will be on Saturday, September 17 at Stone Creek Country Club. Registration starts at 8 AM and the tournament starts at 9. The cost is $55/individual or $220 for a team of 4, with lunch provided. Contact Ray Mullins (903-267-2447) for more information.   

Mary Martha Ladies’ Class

The Mary Martha class has resumed and meets every Wednesday at 10 AM. They are studying "Life Lessons from the Books of I and II Samuel."  

Denison Community Worship & Celebration

Join Denison churches on September 25 as we come together in unity to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Denison. The Celebration will be at Forest Park at 4:30 PM and Worship at Munson Stadium at 6 PM.  

Ark Celebration

Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 2, as we will have  a congregational celebration in recognition of paying off the ARK. All are invited to stay after Sunday worship for a catered lunch and celebrate together! What an amazing ministry tool that building has been and continues to be. That construction project was a bold move by the leadership, but we have been blessed as we were faithful to the call. 

Park Avenue Wednesday Supper

Join us for our Wednesday supper at 5:15. This week we are having Chicken Salad, Fruit, Green Salad, Croissants, Crackers. Desserts will be Chocolate Cake & Peach Cobbler. The meal will be prepared by Jim Russell & his team. Sign up on your communication card Sunday morning to let us know if you plan to attend so we can plan accordingly!  Thank you!

 

TODD'S TAKE

This summer, the Barnabas Center, was honored to receive the Be Our Guest Grant from North Texas Food Bank in the amount of $16,000. This grant will help us to continue to distribute nutritious food to our community through our partnership with the North Texas Food Bank. Specifically, the Barnabas Center was able to purchase a new glass door refrigerator and freezer as well as resurface the floor. They were also able to upgrade some office equipment and  purchase furniture for the lobby. The Barnabas Center distributes food to dozens of families each month. Thanks to everyone who assists at the Barnabas Center and to the entire church for your generosity through the Grace Offering.  

Glad to have everyone here this morning to worship and fellowship!
