TODD’S TAKE

Good morning and welcome! We're so glad to be together as a church family today. If you're our guest this morning, thank you for being here—we'd love to get to know you.

We've spent several weeks exploring the greatness of God — His power as Creator, His kindness in making a world of breathtaking beauty, and His willingness to speak to us through Scripture. Each of these truths gives us the confidence, courage, and comfort we need to navigate this river called life.

But before we close this series, there is one more facet of God's character that may be the most stunning of all — His sacrificial love.

Today we'll discover that God's plan to rescue us wasn't a reaction to our failure. It was a decision made before the world began. We'll see that the God of the universe loved us enough to leave heaven, take on human flesh, and walk straight to a cross — not for people who deserved it, but for people who were in full rebellion against Him.

As the Apostle John writes: "This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins."

Not an example of love. The definition of it.
