Thank you for being our church away from our home in Thailand, for welcoming us, supporting and praying for us through this journey of breast cancer. So happy to report that after 12 rounds of chemo, 16 sessions of radiation, and continued targeted therapy, I will be in remission in January 2027! Woohoo! We love you, Chip & Melanie Hill, family of the Kirkbride’s.
Let's Get Acquainted Luncheon
If you are a new member or have been visiting with us, we would like to invite you to join us for a luncheon in the Ark immediately after services today. This is a great opportunity to meet our Elders, Ministry staff and their families and enjoy a delicious home cooked meal.
PAWS Lite
Join us at 5:15 PM this Wednesday for our meal followed by one of our DMC's. Shelly Calvert and her team will be preparing Hot Sandwiches, Chips, Salad Bar & Dessert.
Back to School Prayer
Join us for this community event next Sunday, August 9 to pray for our students and teachers this new school year. We will meet at Parkside Baptist Church at 7:00 PM and then disperse to the different campuses at 7:30 PM.
Man Alive

College Age Ministry
Our CAM (collage age ministry) is looking for someone to lead this ministry at Grayson College. If you would be interested in this role please contact Gary Calvert.
Volunteer Opportunity
A great opportunity will open this Winter for a teacher and two assistants in the Wednesday night Toddler Bible class this winter (Dec-Feb) 6:30-7:30. Lessons, supplies, and support are ready to make serving this class a blessing! See Rachel McClure to volunteer.
Women's Bible Study
Parkside Baptist Church is hosting a 6 week women's Bible study on Fridays from 2:00 PM-3:30 PM beginning on August 7 through September 11. The topic is Heaven. Please register by emailing Elizabeth Meeks at memeeks0330@gmail.com or text 903-624-3693.
Ladies Brunch
Women of all ages and stages of life are invited to join us for a brunch on Saturday, August 15 from 10:00-11:30 AM in the ARK. Come and enjoy stories, sisterhood and good food. Bring a friend! Childcare will not be provided but children are welcome.

TODD’S TAKE
We're so glad you're here this morning. Whether you're a longtime member or joining us for the first time, we hope you feel right at home as we worship together.
As we kick off August, we're exploring a tension every believer knows well: how do we live as citizens of heaven while still living in the kingdom of this world? Drawing from Philippians, Micah, and the words of Jesus in John 17, we'll see that Scripture calls us not to withdraw from the world, but to engage it wisely — the same way a traveler learns the language and customs of a foreign land.
Our guide for the morning is the Old Testament prophet Daniel, exiled to Babylon yet unwavering in his devotion to God. We'll look at three marks of his life that can shape ours: he resolved his convictions before the pressure came, he prayed as a steady, unshakable habit, and he lived with a clear vision of God's eternal kingdom that shaped his everyday choices. Remarkably, Daniel didn't just survive Babylon — he blessed it, becoming salt and light right where God had placed him.
As C.S. Lewis put it, "Aim at Heaven and you will get Earth thrown in. Aim at Earth and you will get neither." Come ready to consider what it looks like to aim at heaven, right where you are.
