TODD’S TAKE

Welcome! Whether you're a longtime member of our church family or you're joining us for the first time this morning — maybe because your child took part in this week's Christian Theater Workshop — we're so glad you're here.

What a week it's been. Our kids spent the last several days learning, laughing, and rehearsing for their performance of Promised Land, bringing the story of Moses to life — from the basket in the reeds to the parting of the Red Sea. None of that happens without the incredible people behind the scenes. To every volunteer who taught a line, built a set, moved a set, sewed a costume, ran a rehearsal, wrangled a room full of energetic kids, served a meal, sewed a costume, glued a craft, taught a Bible story, ran a game, dimmed a light, or simply showed up to help wherever needed — thank you. Your investment in these children matters more than you know, and it showed on that stage. If you haven't had a chance to see the performance yet, there's one more showing this afternoon at 4 PM— don't miss it!

The Christian Theater Workshop play tells a great story — because it is one. Moses is one of the true heroes of the Bible, and Scripture affirms it again and again. But the play ends at the Red Sea, and there's more to the story than the kids had time to tell.

This week, we're going further — into the giving of the Law at Sinai, and into a truth even bigger than that: as great as Moses was, and as great as the Law he gave was, someone greater was coming.

This Sunday kicks off a new sermon series called Parishioner's Picks, where messages are shaped by topics and Scriptures submitted by you, our church family. Our first pick comes from a request to talk about grace — and there's no better week to do it. Grace isn't just a nice idea; it's the very thing that removes our guilt and draws us close to God. Whether you grew up knowing God mostly as a rule-giver or you're still discovering who He is, this message is for you. Today we will explore what grace does that the Law never could, and why knowing God as a Grace-Giver changes everything.

We are so glad that you are here this morning!
