TODD’S TAKE
Welcome to worship! What a joy it is to gather together as a church family. To our guests joining us today, we'd love the opportunity to connect with you.
In our sermon time we will continue our journey through 1 John as the beloved apostle encourages believers to acknowledge the goodness of God and encourages them to seek Him. Our text today will be 1 John 1:5-2:2.
We have moved our Ministers' Cookoff from late August to early October this year in an attempt to avoid the hot weather we typically have in August. So, make plans to join us this Wednesday, October 1st from 6-7 PM in the courtyard for hamburgers and hotdogs. No need to bring anything but a lawn chair and your appetite—we will provide everything else! Please note that regular classes and Disciple Making Communities are canceled that evening.
Ministry Focus
A few weeks ago, when we recognized our Deacons and Ministry Leaders, you saw the many ways PACOC serves our community. Today, let's focus on one of our most significant outreach efforts—the Barnabas Center.
The Barnabas Center provides two vital community services. First, our food pantry provides groceries to families in need twice monthly and relies on volunteers to help with preparation and distribution.
Second, we provide Weekend To Go Bags for approximately 450 children in Denison ISD. These bags ensure students have nutritious food over the weekends when school meals aren't available. This rapidly expanding ministry needs volunteers for multiple roles: driving, picking up supplies, unloading, sorting, distributing, restocking, and preparing the weekend food bags.
Ready to get involved? You can volunteer for either the Food Pantry Ministry or the Weekend To Go Bags program through the PACOC app, by visiting www.barnabascenter.org, or by scanning the QR code.
