Winter Clothing Drive—Our winter clothing drive will start in late November. We are not gathering items yet but if you happen to be cleaning out your closets this fall please keep this in mind!
 
Thanksgiving Food Drive—Our Thanksgiving Food Drive will run through September 28th. This will assist the Barnabas Food Pantry as they prepare to hand out Thanksgiving boxes over the Thanksgiving holiday.  Tabs are available in the atrium. Items needed are: Cake Mix, Cake Icing, Canned Corn, Canned Green Beans, Canned Peas, Cranberry Sauce, Mashed Potatoes (small boxes), Stuffing Mix or Cornmeal.
 

Bible Study and Fellowship Opportunities

 
SAMPACC—The senior adult ministry will meet tomorrow night, in the Atrium at 5:30 PM for a game night. Bring a finger food to share.
 
Man Alive—Men, join us this coming Saturday, September 13th at 8 AM in the Ark for breakfast, community and challenge.
 
Mary Martha Class—The Mary Martha Class, that meets on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 AM in the Atrium, will resume on September 10th.  The theme this year is Cultivating Inward Beauty Through the Word. The class will be lead by Judith Nevil. 
 
NT Bible Reading DMC—New Testament DMC has officially started on Wednesday nights but you can still join. See Tyler for more information.
 
Men’s Bible Study—Join in for a weekly Bible study lead by Anthony Bryant on Thursdays from 10-11 AM up here at the building in Room A.
 
Youth Ministry

  • Sunday, September 7: Connect will meet from 5:00-7:30.
  • October 4-5: Fall Retreat. Registration is now open at pacoc.net/youth.

 
Park Avenue Wednesday Supper
Join us this Wednesday at 5:15 PM for our PAWS meal. We are having Sloppy Joes, Mac-n-Cheese, Baked Beans, Salad Bar, Dessert and a Vegan/Vegetarian Option. The meal will be prepared by Kathy Hitchcock and her Team. Serving starts at 5:15 PM and stops promptly at 6:15 PM.

Today is Ministry Sunday
Today we will recognize and celebrate those who serve PACOC in ministry leadership positions—our deacons and ministry leaders. In our sermon time we will call them up to the stage and pray over them as they continue to lead us in the over 30 ministries that PACOC is engaged in. Not only will we celebrate them but continue to encourage all of us to find our place in the body of Christ.

We are so blessed here at PACOC with so many servant leaders working together to bring the good news of the Kingdom into our lives and the lives of our community and our world. Thanks to all of you who do so much in our little outpost of the Kingdom.
 
Annual Leadership Retreat
Our annual leadership retreat is scheduled for September 18-20 as the elders and ministers convene for a time of prayer and vision for the church. As always, we covet your prayers for this time together that God will clearly show us where we are to go and that we may have clear eyes to see it.
