Youth Ministry
Todd's Take
On this Mother's Day, we celebrate the remarkable women who nurture our souls with boundless love. Like our Heavenly Father, mothers reflect divine care through everyday acts of selflessness and grace.
To all mothers, grandmothers, and maternal figures in our congregation—those present, distant, or watching from heaven—we honor your sacred calling. Your strength shapes generations.
May God's blessings shower upon you today. Remember that your ministry of love never goes unnoticed, neither by those you cherish nor by our Creator.
Today we continue our journey through the reign of Israel's third king, Solomon. We'll be focusing on 1 Kings 3-4 as this son of David begins his reign—and what a remarkable beginning it is!
In a dream, Solomon is approached by God and given an extraordinary opportunity: to ask for anything he wants. Just imagine that moment! If you were in Solomon's position, what would you ask for? What does your heart truly desire? What do you value above everything else?
Spoiler alert: Solomon asks for wisdom—an understanding heart to govern God's people and discern between good and evil. We might tell ourselves we would make the same choice. But would we, really?
This powerful story invites us to honestly evaluate what we consider most important in our lives. In doing so, many of us—myself included—may discover that our hearts and desires need realignment with God's will.
