TODD’S TAKE
Good morning and welcome to our worship services this morning.

Only 11 days until Thanksgiving! Today in our sermon time I will continue talking about Counting Every Blessing! Seems like it’s a consensus among mental health professionals that a spirit of gratitude is beneficial to us (as I would expect given the Bible repeatedly tells us to be thankful). One study I recently came across listed these benefits of gratitude:

  • Boosts Mental Well-Being
  • Reduces Stress and Negative Impact
  • Builds Self-Esteem and Resilience
  • Promotes Optimism in Tough Times
  • Aids in Goal Setting & Personal Growth
  • Enhances Sleep and Physical Health

Looks like a no-brainer that we should cultivate this attitude of thankfulness. I’ll remind us today of what we can be grateful for and share with you some strategies to grow in being thankful.

This morning we have 15 families representing over 60 individuals away at our Fortify Family Retreat out on Lake Texoma. What a great time for fellowship, worship, and enjoying the beauties of God’s world!

Please make note of all the activities we have coming up the next couple of months. I especially invite all of you to come out this Wednesday night for our annual Chili-Soup Supper. We’ll have great food and wonderful fellowship. There will be no  classes for both adults and children that night.

Did you see we had 382 Operation Christmas Child boxes filled? What a tremendous display of generosity and compassion for children who are in need of a good word this Christmas! Let us all keep growing in the grace of giving!

So glad to have you with us this morning to GIVE THANKS to the King of kings and Lord of lords!
