TODD’S TAKE

Good morning and welcome to our worship services this morning.

Today in our sermon time we will resume our journey through the letter of James. Today’s  text is James  4:13-5:6. James gets real personal in this section as he teaches that faith affects our calendars and our wallets. How we plan our time and how we distribute our money is a reflection of our faith.  In this section we come across the well-known saying, “You ought to say, ‘If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.’” May God’s will permeate every decision we make knowing that His will and His plans are always far superior to ours.

Let me encourage you to read through the full letter as James has so much practical advice for us to ensure that our faith is genuine and producing the good works that should naturally flow out of a life of faith.

Looking forward to our Trunk ‘N Treat this evening. As always we are expecting a large crowd. Thanks to everyone who will be helping out and everyone who has brought candy. This event is one way that we reach out to serve our community. How blessed we are with this facility and all our gracious volunteers. Of course we are glad to hand out candy tonight, but more than that we want to use this event to hand out the love of God. So, as you interact with the crowds tonight remember that you are an ambassador of Christ. Welcome our guests and look for an opportunity to invite them to become a part of our spiritual community. All children need the Lord and we want to be a church where children of all ages come to know the life-giving message of Jesus.

We have a few more Operation Christmas Child boxes to distribute so if you haven't had a chance to pick one up now is the time. Those are due back Sunday, November 10. If you have any questions contact Rachel.

Glad you are here with us today to worship our Creator!
