Wi-Fi Upgrades
We have recently upgraded our Wi-Fi here at the church by adding several access points throughout the building to provide better coverage in the worship center and the classrooms. That said, we have a new guest network you are welcome to access. The password is “pacocguest”.

Trunk ‘n Treat
Mark your calendar for our Trunk ‘n Treat on Sunday, October 27th at 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the church parking lot. If you would like to volunteer your trunk you can sign up on the app or go to pacoc.net/tnt. We are hoping to get 30 trunks to accommodate the large crowds we typically draw. This is a great outreach effort of PACOC and a great and fun way to serve.  In addition, we are in need of candy donations. You can bring your donations and place them in the baskets at either side of the hallways.

TODD’S TAKE
Good morning and welcome to our worship services this morning.

Today in our sermon time I will continue our journey through the book of James. Our text this morning will be James 1:27-2:13. In this section of the letter James will present a scenario where two people come into their meeting places—one poor man and one rich man—and then imagines their reactions.

How we respond to people is a measure of our faith and James is clear here. Favoritism has no place in the lives of the faithful. A faith that works does not show favoritism. What an important message to all of us as we live in such a diverse world.

My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism.—James 2:1

Thanksgiving Food Drive

Today ends our Thanksgiving Food Drive for the Barnabas Center. Our goal is to help 150 families this year with their Thanksgiving meal. As a reminder for those of us who have been around here a while and some information for those of you who are newer, the Barnabas Center is our food pantry located at 2800 S. Mirick Avenue here in Denison.  The facility used to be the home of the Mirick Avenue Church of Christ until they ceased meeting a few years back. As they considered how their legacy could be passed on, they approached the elders inquiring if we would make a good use of the facility. And we have.  What a blessing that building has been!

The Barnabas Center distributes food to dozens of families each month. Volunteers from PACOC and the community oversee the work to provide this much needed resource. The Barnabas Center also prepares weekend food bags for DISD students who face food insecurity over the weekends. We work with the local school counselors to distribute this food.  For more information or to donate or volunteer go to barnabascenter.org.
