Todd's Take
Good morning and welcome to our worship service. If you are a guest with us this morning we welcome you and invite you to join in with us as we honor our Creator and Savior.
Our group of 20+ PACOC members are down in Anahuac, Mexico at Casa de la Esperanza serving the children there. We have a long relationship with the ministry there and are glad to continue that. I’m looking forward to hearing how God continues to work there through our group and the many groups that serve there over the summer. This trip is one of the ministries that is partially supported through our Grace Offering, so even if you’re not able to make the long trip your generosity is helping make this happen. Thanks for your generosity and investment in the spiritual lives of these children.
We are close to wrapping up Season Two of The Crown and today we will hear the sad story of David and his family woes. The prophet Nathan revealed to David that his sin with Bathsheba and ensuing coverup would have long-lasting repercussions and we certainly see that play out as David’s family suffers through one crisis after another. Let’s learn from David’s mistakes and resist temptation and care for our families.
With The Crown soon behind us I will round out the summer with sermons based on your input. It’s time again for Parishioner’s Picks where you choose the sermon text. If you have a scripture that is meaningful to you, or if you have a scripture that has been difficult for you to grasp, or if you feel like a scripture has not been preached on in a while then let me know and I’ll do what I can. Email me your scripture or better yet fill out the form at pacoc.net/p2p. I always love to get your suggestions!
A quick update on our Pressing On initiative as we join hands with the Siburt Institute at ACU in seeking God’s preferred future for PACOC
All the data from staff interviews, focus groups, and the congregational survey is being processed and our consultant, Barry Stephens, will be meeting with the leadership in early August to share with us the findings. Continue prayers for the church as we seek to be everything God has called us to be as we represent Him in and from Texoma.
