TODD’S TAKE
Good morning and welcome to our worship service. If you are a guest with us this morning we welcome you and invite you to join in with us as we honor our Creator and Savior.

This morning I will continue our pursuit of peace as we read and think through chapters 14-16 of John—often referred to as the Upper Room Discourse. Jesus has revealed his impending death and knows this news is upsetting to the apostles, so he takes them aside to reassure them that in spite of this they can have peace. At the conclusion of this discourse he says, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.” What we want to discover is what are “these things” that he has told them.

Today we will focus in on Jesus’ statement in John 14:13-14— “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” Peace is found when we have confidence in prayer—when we know God can use every situation in our lives to bring glory to Him.

We are so glad you are here as we worship God together! Make every effort to remove any distracting thoughts or feelings and focus on our Creator and Savior.
