Todd’s TakeGood morning and welcome to our worship service. If you are a guest with us this morning we welcome you and invite you to join in with us as we honor our creator and savior. If you are looking for a church home, please feel free to let us know if you have any questions.
This morning I’ll continue our journey through the letters of Paul looking at
1 & 2 Timothy. These two letters along with Titus are often referred to as the “Pastoral Epistles” as they are written to men in a leadership position in local churches—Timothy in Ephesus and Titus in Crete. These letters are thought to have been written near the end of Paul’s life in the mid 60’s AD. In a sense, the Pastoral Epistles are a passing of the baton from Paul to the next generation of church leaders.
As we begin another year, plans are being made for the church to continue and broaden the work here in Texoma in 2024. One aspect of that planning is having financial goals. As Blake Smith mentioned last week, your generosity has been so instrumental in the church being able to carry out our ministry plans. You are all to be commended for your faithful stewardship. We are especially blessed to enter the year debt free.
The 2024 budget has been set and is available online through the app or you can go to pacoc.net/budget to take a look at it. If you have any questions contact Blake or one of the elders. Here’s a summary of this year’s budget.
- Weekly Need has increased slightly from $19,464 to $19,762. We met and even exceeded our budget for 2023 and pray for the same in 2024. With your weekly giving we are able to maintain our facility, compensate our staff, and provide for the expense of all the ministries of the church. We are blessed to have so many of you not only give financially but give of your time and talents. A quick glance at our bulletins is a sure indication of how much God is doing through this body of Christ.
- Our Grace Offering has increased from $156,100 to $165,350. This collection will be Sunday, March 31 (Easter Sunday) and goes to support many of our Outreach Ministries, especially our foreign mission efforts. As Grace Offering approaches we will communicate more detailed information about our outreach goals for 2024. This is an area where we have seen such growth and many opportunities. We are committed to continue seeking ways to minister to our community and world in response to Jesus’ command to GO!
As you make financial plans for 2024 I pray that you will honor God with your wealth by setting aside a portion for the advancement of the kingdom.
