Sympathy
JD Huffman passed away on September 9th. Our sympathy is with his family at this time. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Baptism
Kennedie Howard surrendered her life to Jesus on Thursday morning, September 14 and was baptized by her father, Lantz, in Lake Texoma. We rejoice with all of the Howard family.
Parenting Workshop
Our annual parenting workshop is today, September 17th. Kevin & Shelly Huddleston will be our speakers sharing The Rhythms of Life & Parenting. Parents will meet with Kevin from 11:30a.m. to 2:45p.m. Lunch will be provided. This is a free event for parents of all ages
Kevin and Shelly have been in ministry together for over 35 years. They spent 30 years in congregational ministry and now Kevin is the Director of Ministries for Arms of Hope, a Christian care organization that cares for children and single moms with families.
Barnabas Thanksgiving Food Drive
This year our food drive will help provide Thanksgiving meals for the Barnabas Center. We have tabs in the atrium for different food items to provide for those in need. Grab a tab or two from the atrium and return your food items to the shelves by no later than September 24.
Women’s Pickleball
We meet in the ARK on Mondays at 9:00 a.m. and Fridays at 10:00 a.m. This is open to women of all ages.

Western Heights Church of Christ is currently accepting applications for preschool enrollment for 2023-2024 year. It is open to ages 18 months to Pre-K. You can contact them at 903.815.6648.
PAWS & DMC’s Are Back!
Our PAWS meal and Disciple Making Communities are back in full swing. The groups are listed on the website and app. Join us on Wednesdays at 5:15 p.m. for supper followed by DMC’s at 6:30 p.m.
New Online Picture Directory
If you have not yet signed up for the online photo directory, it is not too late! To encourage everyone to participate we will be giving every family a free 5x7 photo. You can find the link on the website or app or call the church office and Joan can set you up an appointment. Pictures will be taken from September 17-October 15. If you want to help out, please contact the church office.
College/Young Adult Group
We will be meeting at the McAlister’s, 675 Yellow Jacket Rd, Denison on Monday, September 18th at 6:00 PM. We are grilling burgers & hot dogs & the game will also be on for anyone interested. Come join us & bring a friend! Contact Amyee at 903-271-6111 if you have any questions.

TODD'S TAKE
Good morning and welcome to our time of worship. It’s always a blessing to be together as a church family. Welcome to our guests. We are glad you are here and welcome any questions you have about Park Avenue and our mission. Track me down or email me and I’d be glad to talk with you.
This morning we have a guest speaker for our sermon time. Kevin Huddleston, who will be leading our parenting workshop later in the day, will be bringing us the message.
Next week I will finish up this round of Parishioner’s Picks. I’m sorry I have not been able to get to all the requests but I will keep them on file for our next round. It’s been a pleasure and sometimes a challenge hearing from all of you. Thanks to everyone who submitted a sermon request and feel free to send them my way anytime.
Back in 2012 the eldership put in place a month-long sabbatical for the ministerial staff. What a blessing that has been for me and my family. Next month my sabbatical comes around again, so I will be gone in October. Basil and Tyler will be bringing the messages as well as Lanny Tucker from Eastern European Mission for one Sunday. Henriann and I are going on a special mission to adopt a 14 year-old boy from Thailand. We are excited about this new opportunity and covet your prayers. I’ll give you more details on that next week.
The Tabernacle Experience Coming to Western Heights in Sherman
Denison may have the axe, but Sherman will shortly be home to the tabernacle. The Western Heights Church of Christ in Sherman will be hosting the The Tabernacle Experience. The Tabernacle Experience is not a museum. Nor is it a theatre production. The Tabernacle Experience is an audio guided journey through a life-size replica of the Tabernacle. One step inside the Courtyard will translate you into Old Testament times. Your Audio Driven Journey will take you through a day in the life of an Old Testament Priest as you engage in the duties and rituals of The Tabernacle at each of the 8 interactive stations.
