TODD'S TAKE
Good morning and welcome to our time of worship. It’s always a blessing to be together as a church family. Welcome to our guests. We are glad you are here and welcome any questions you have about Park Avenue and our mission. Track me down or email me and I’d be glad to talk with you.

This morning in our preaching time I will continue addressing our Parishioner’s Picks and this week we will be looking at the prophet Elijah as he confronts the evil of his day personified in the evil king and queen of Israel, Ahab and Jezebel.  Our text will be 1 Kings 18-19. As Elijah was bold in his faith, so are we called to boldness and courage in our world.

Remember to signup to get your picture taken for our updated online directory.  We’ve had a good response the first week but we are looking for 100% participation so we can have this tool updated and current for all our members. Sign up online or call Joan at the church office to set up your time.

We kicked off our fall Lady Jacket Breakfasts this Friday. Thanks to all our volunteers and the blessing you are to our DISD female athletes.

Men, mark your calendars for our annual Men’s Conference December 1-2. More details will be coming soon.

Glad to have you all here today!

Barnabas Center Expands Ministry to Help DISD Students
The Barnabas Center, a ministry supported by PACOC though our Grace Offering, has extended its ministry to providing backpacks of food for students of families who need help. The program is called Barnabas Backpack Buddies. The food is delivered to the campuses on Friday and then distributed to students to provide some basic food items for the weekend.

Through a grant from the United Way much of the funds needed for food purchases are provided but we would gratefully accept individual pre-packed snack items: cereal bowls/cups, granola bars, peanut butter or cheese crackers, instant oatmeal, apple sauce, mac-n-cheese cups, canned meat-vienna sausage or pasta with meat, peanut butter to-go cups, fruit cups, veggie cups/bags, fruit snacks, cookies, chips—-all must be pre-packaged single servings.  We also need some more volunteers to pack up and deliver the food items to the school campuses. This does require some degree of lifting, so keep that in mind.

Marsha Foltermann is leading this ministry and is the one to contact if you want to donate items or help deliver. Call or text her at  903-821-6241.
