TODD'S TAKE
Good morning and welcome to our time of worship, fellowship, communion, and scripture.

To our guests, we are honored to have you with us and welcome you to reach out to any of us with any questions you have about our faith and how we are living it out as the Park Avenue Church of Christ.

Today we will wrap up Season One of The Crown as we come to the tragic ending of Saul’s life. One of the resources I've been using ends each lesson with a set of questions to reflect on what is happening in Saul’s life. I’ve adapted questions from the end of 1 Samuel to help you process and apply the story of Saul. Take a look at these and either privately or with a friend of family member consider these questions:

1. How does this Season One from The Crown help you understand God?
2. Does it make sense that someone like Saul can be in the vicinity of God but not experience intimacy in relationship with Him? Why or why not?
3. In what ways did Saul know or not know God? Where did he go wrong?
4. Does this story resonate with you? Are you guilty of associating with Jesus at church but not really knowing Him as your Savior and Lord?
5. Saul lived a life of fear. Do you live a life of fear like he did?
6. If you resonate with the story of Saul’s tragic end, would you like to commit once and for all to Jesus and allow Him to forgive you?
7. In what ways does the notion of “false repentance” ring true in your life? Do you see false repentance in the lives of those around you?
8. Take time to ask the Lord to grant a heart of true repentance.
9. Who in your life do you know like Saul, dying without really knowing the Lord? Take time to pray for their salvation and commit to share the good news of Jesus with them.
10. In what ways does the story of Saul give you insight into  the Gospel?
