Sympathy
Our sympathy is with Joyce McChristian and her family after the passing of her husband, John McChristian, on May 14.  John & Joyce are former members at Park Avenue Church.  Services were held yesterday. 
 
CASA Mission Trip
This mission trip will be June 30-July 8. If you are interested in going on the trip we need you to register by no later than May 28.  
 
Baby Bottle Campaign
Thank you to all who picked up a bottle for True Options Pregnancy Center in Sherman. Please return your filled bottles by no later than Father’s Day, June 18. 
 
Pen Pal Program
Kirk Pendergrass and Paul Waggoner are currently working in the Grayson County Jail ministry and we have been given an opportunity to start a pen pal program. Please contact the church office if you are interested and someone will be in contact with you.

Although our Wednesday Suppers are taking a break for summer we will still have DMC’s and classes that will meet as normal at 6:30 p.m. through Wednesday May 31.

June 7—Church at the Park
We'll kick off summer Wednesdays on June 7th! Due to the construction at Waterloo Lake this year, Church on the Lake is becoming Church at the Park! We will meet together at Munson Park (north of Terrell Elementary on Highway 69, See the map above) for hamburgers, outdoor games (including disc golf), and fellowship. Bring a lawn chair!  We will provide the food. We are asking you to make a donation to offset the cost of the food. We will start Church at the Park at 6 PM.                                                         
 
Stories from Genesis
Then, starting on Wednesday, June 14 and for the following 4 Wednesdays, we will meet in the Atrium for small group discussions on "Life Changing Stories from Genesis." We will also be serving some ice cream treats. Snacks start at 6:15 and discussions will start at 6:30. Children's classes will be provided during those 5 weeks.

Good morning. What a blessing it is to worship together as the body of Christ! Welcome to all our church family and to our guests.
 
All our guests and new members are invited to stay after worship for our Let’s Get Acquainted luncheon in the family life center.  Come enjoy a meal with us and get to know us a little better. For those visiting, we’d love to talk to you about membership here at Park Avenue and how you can use your gifts and talents to serve through the church here at Park Avenue and be blessed by the fellowship and encouragement of others who are seeking the Lord. Give us a call or track one of us down. We’d love to talk to you.
 
This week we welcomed our summer youth interns. Ryan Mathews and Julie Miller have joined us to work with Tyler as they have a full summer planned. Get to know Ryan and Julie and, as Tyler said, they are not opposed to getting to know you over a meal. We are blessed with a great youth ministry!
 
This morning I will continue in 1 Samuel 9-10 as we trace the origins of the monarchy in Israel. Last week we looked at Israel's demand for a king. This week we will be in 1 Samuel 9-10 as we see the search for that king. It really is one of the oddest beginnings for a king that you’ll ever see. If you want to keep pace with the sermons, next week read 1 Samuel 11-13.
 
So glad all of you are here today as we fellowship, commune, and worship. Praying that God speaks to you today wherever you are and whatever you need.
