TODD'S TAKE

Good morning and welcome to our worship. To all our guests, we are glad to have you with us. Members and guests, please complete a digital communication card that can be accessed on the church app or by scanning the QR code below.

Today we have a special visitor. Hammer Afakule from Togo, West Africa will be bringing us a message this morning updating us on the work there and encouraging us from the Word. PACOC has had a long-standing relationship with the work in Togo dating back to our partnership with Jeff and Brenda Holland in the early 1990’s. Jeff is the son of former PA members Buddy and Janet Holland (Buddy served as an elder at PA from 2008-2012). Jeff and Brenda worked with a team to plant churches in Togo and stayed there as missionaries for several years before returning state-side. The Hollands maintained a close relationship with the work there and we continued our financial support of Hammer and others who continue the kingdom work there. Throughout the years we have sent mission teams to Togo. PA has been blessed to witness how God is working in that part of the world.

In other mission news, we will be sending three PA members to Monterrey, Mexico next month to check in on the work there and to offer our support and encouragement. Jannie Bellows, who with her husband Ray have been long time servants in our foreign mission ministry, will be spending a couple of weeks there while one of our elders, Kevin Dale, and one of our deacons, Calvin Henry, will make a shorter trip to Monterrey. Like Togo, PA has had a long-standing relationship with the work in Monterrey dating back to the 1990’s when our youth group took a mission trip there to assist in building a church.

In news closer to home, we are excited to report that the work in south Durant, The Turning Point, continues to bear fruit. Over the last month they have had 8 souls commit their lives to Christ in baptism. That group meets on Sunday evenings in a tent or simply outdoors to worship and fellowship. We have a regular group from PA that works with that fellowship as well as many of us who have gone up periodically to worship with them. The Turning Point will be celebrating 3 years on July 17.

God is working all around the world and what a privilege it is to be a part of the Kingdom of God that extends from East to West and North to South. Thanks to all of you for your generous financial support through our Grace Offering that helps fund these ministries.
