FINAL STRETCH

September 28 – October 2

“for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Memory tip: Five days, one final phrase — then the whole passage is yours. Each day this week, say Philippians 3:12–14 in full, start to finish, from memory.

FINAL STRETCH · DAY 36

Monday, September 28

“for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Today's Thought

This is the final phrase, and it’s the reason for everything before it: God called you. Not generically — heavenward, in Christ Jesus, specifically and personally.

Prayer

God, thank you for calling me. Remind me today that this whole journey has a purpose in you. Amen.

FINAL STRETCH · DAY 37

Tuesday, September 29

“for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Today's Thought

Try saying the whole passage today, start to finish, even if you stumble. Notice how it moves — from honest incompleteness, to grace-fueled pursuit, to humble community, to forgetting and straining, to a clear goal, to a personal calling.

Prayer

Lord, thank you for this whole passage now living in me. Let it shape how I live beyond these 40 days. Amen.

FINAL STRETCH · DAY 38

Wednesday, September 30

“for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Today's Thought

Look back over five-plus weeks of prayer and fasting as a church family — whichever days were yours to fast. What has changed in you — not perfectly, but really? Write it down if you can.

Prayer

Father, thank you for what you’ve done in me this season. Help me see it clearly. Amen.

FINAL STRETCH · DAY 39

Thursday, October 1

“for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Today's Thought

Tomorrow evening, our 40 days leads into a 24-Hour Prayer Vigil — October 2 at 6:00 PM through October 3 at 6:00 PM. There’s no sign-up. Just show up at church for an hour, any hour, and pray. Today, practice the whole passage once more, and let it become a prayer of anticipation for that night.

Prayer

God, prepare my heart for tomorrow’s vigil. Show me what hour to come, and meet me there. Amen.

FINAL STRETCH · DAY 40

Friday, October 2

“for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Today's Thought

Forty days ago, you began by admitting you hadn’t arrived. Tonight, our 24-Hour Prayer Vigil begins — six o’clock this evening through six o’clock tomorrow evening. No sign-up, no schedule to keep. Just come to church for an hour, whenever that hour is, and pray. You’ve pressed on for forty days — now press on for one more hour, together.

Prayer

Lord, thank you for these 40 days. I haven’t arrived, but I know you better than when I started. Draw me to the vigil, and meet me there. Amen.
